President Buhari also said officials of the team will each receive N500,000.
He noted that he followed the performances of the players while he was in the United kingdom on medical vacation.
While presenting the trophy and players to the president, the minister of sports and youth development Solomon Dalong explained that having realised the challenges in the sector, the ministry took some steps that are beginning to yield positive result.
He noted that the Buhari administration’s support for sports is an inspiration that has challenged sports men and women to make the country proud.
President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation Ahmadu Musa Kido and team captain of D’Tigress Aisha Mohammed said the team will make the country proud in the 2018 world championship in Spain.
